My Opinion of Belle from Once Upon a Time

It’s not Belle. It’s not the Belle French we know and love. Our Belle would never dump Rumple because of a simple assumption. She would forgive, listen, and be more understanding than this. This new Belle is unforgiving, hateful, and even short-fused. She is a dark Belle, an unpredictable Belle. Something’s got the good Belle and imprisoned her deep inside the body of the bad Belle.
I would like to think back to the book Teardrop. In the story, Eureka’s best friend Brooks becomes possessed by a dark force and does everything he can to hurt her to the point she could cry. I have to say that the actions of Brooks when he’s possessed are very parallel to Belle’s new behavior. Like the mind of the one possessing Brooks, I think that Belle’s anger and distrust have gotten control of her and she’s not herself anymore.
If you’re not convinced that Belle is currently displaying her bad self, let me ask you this: would the good, kindhearted Belle cheat on her husband while he’s out of town…by her hand? Would the loving Belle just discard Rumple like a useless, pathetic doll and get him as far away from her as possible? And would the wise Belle just listen to the words of someone who wasn’t born at that time and yet held a bad view of his father? The answer to all three questions is “no”. The good Belle would shower her husband with unconditional love and give him limitless chances for love whether he deserves it or not. Also, was she not the one who always looked for the good in people?
I sincerely hope that the good Belle comes back soon before any irreversible regrets can be made. If Belle lets her forgiveness and ability to see goodness in people die, then the good side of Belle will die with them.

My TV Show Theories: Steven Universe and Once Upon a Time

I’ve noticed that several people have posted theory videos about every possibility that could happen in Steven Universe. If there are any theory videos involving Once Upon a Time, I’ve yet to find them. I have created theories of my own about the shows, but these will only be written word for word. First, I will talk about Steven Universe.
Here’s what I think is very likely to happen:
1.       Steven (and possibly the Crystal Gems) will go to Homeworld.
2.       Steven gets poofed (or seriously injured) and sees his mom in limbo for the first time.
For the first theory, this sort of event could take place if Steven gets captured by Homeworld Gems or the Crystal Gems need to take the fight to Homeworld. Since he is the hybrid son of Rose Quartz and a human, then Homeworld is likely going to see him as an abomination and thus needs to be dealt with. If Steven does go to Homeworld, it would be a good opportunity to see White Diamond for the first time if she doesn’t appear in any episodes before the event. Whether or not the Crystal Gems are going to accompany him or take him to Homeworld, I am not entirely certain.
For the second theory, I’m not sure whether or not Steven can get poofed since he’s only half-Gem. However, if he does - or at least gets injured in a human way similar to poofing - then this may provide him an opportunity to see his mother in limbo. Rebecca Sugar never actually said Rose was dead, so what I think is that Rose - like other Gems when they get poofed - is in limbo within her gem because she gave up her physical form for Steven. When at least Steven’s consciousness retreats in his gem, he might see his mother’s essence shaped in her form. After a bittersweet chat with his mother, Steven will return to reality. I’m guessing that in order for Rose to return, Steven will have to die and that will detach the gem from his navel. I’m not saying Steven will die in the show, but it might have to happen someday after the series.
On the topic of Once Upon a Time, I have four people in mind for the hooded figure.
1.       Rumple and Belle’s baby: Do you know of the show The 4400? If not, let me explain it to you. Over the years, 4400 people get abducted from their respective timelines by a strange light. They then reappear altogether on a lake in modern times with no memory of what happened between their disappearance and their reappearance. Two of the abductees have a superpowered child named Isabelle, who grows to adulthood at an abnormally fast rate. The reason I bring this up is because I think Rumple and Belle’s baby (who I will refer to as Giles after his actor) will be a lot like an evil version of Isabelle.
Because his dad is the Dark One, Giles will possibly inherit his powers, not to mention a lot of her personality. No doubt that Giles probably manipulated his mom into ditching his dad so he could use her as a pawn. Naturally, Belle will blame Rumple for their son’s darkness, but then Giles will point out that Belle’s distrust and spite towards her husband helped fuel Giles’ dark powers and his darkness altogether. Talk about a stinger there. The Evil Queen might want to recruit Giles as her apprentice, but he might turn on her and become the final boss of the first half of Season 6. Look out, world! A natural Dark One could be coming our way!
2.       Belle: Okay, some part of me might be biased about this, but if the creators want to keep us on our toes, they’d have to pull a pretty good plot twist like turning Belle into a wielder of dark magic. I would give you the reasons why I think she could be the hooded figure, but I’d go on a long-winded rant, so I’ll narrow it down for you. Belle hasn’t exactly been proving to be a good wife to Rumple recently. She expects him to be a perfect man because she cannot accept his imperfections and his addiction to the dark side. She needs to realize that no one – not even she or her husband – can be perfect. A true Beauty and the Beast moral would be that the beauty would still love the beast even if he doesn’t turn into a prince. As long as he’s compassionate and not abusive, that should be all that matters.
Another thing to point out is that she’s being harsh with Rumple, saying that his being afraid of failure is “too weak to be good”. She should know that everyone is afraid of failure, including herself. She claims that her son will hate his dad, but the only hatred I see is hers. I know I have my dislikes towards Belle, but that doesn’t mean she’s entirely out of the running for the hooded figure. I don’t know how she would turn into a dark sorceress, but a pretty good instigator would be an event similar to Tara’s death in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Willow turned dark right after Tara died, so I’m wondering if Belle could do the same.
3.       An Emma doppelganger: Believe it or not, this is not out of the realm of possibility. Much like Jekyll and Hyde, maybe Emma’s going to take the serum and split herself into clean absolutes. I don’t know why she would do that, but you have to admit that a doppelganger would make a very good candidate for the hooded figure.
4.       A Snow White doppelganger: Given what the Evil Queen has done to her and David’s hearts right now, Snow White might be compelled to give in to her inner darkness. But if this happens, then she might want to take the serum and split herself into two people. It might only be a possibility, but it’s a plot-twisting possibility.

I’ve paid close attention to the red smoke the hooded figure uses during the predicted fight, and it doesn’t match Rumple’s smoke, the Evil Queen’s, or perhaps even Jafar’s. Given how the show has proven to pull plot twists here and there, I say that the hooded figure is the person people least suspect. Even though I’m leaning more towards Belle, there’s a good chance it’s her and Rumple’s son.
Would you like to share your thoughts in the comments below? It’d be interesting to see what you think of any one of my theories.

In Regards to the Once Upon a Time Episode "Birth"

Okay, first off, I apologize for being away for so long. I am swamped with schoolwork and barely have time for this kind of stuff. The reason I’m doing this blog post is that I would like to point out a few things about one of the recent episodes of Once Upon a Time. Yes, I watch the show and would like to share my analysis of the episode “Birth”. I must warn you that this will be spoiler-filled, so I advise against reading it unless you’ve seen the episode or you want to read this anyway.

The major twist is that Hook is a co-Dark One. I thank TV Tropes for the word “co-Dark One”. Even though he promised Emma that he’d love her no matter what, he turned on her once he learned the truth. This is something I call the “Vos Dynamic”. Yet again, there’ll be spoilers, but this time for the Star Wars book Dark Disciple. In Dark Disciple, Vos loved Ventress very much until he learned that she killed his Master. He turned to the dark side and wanted to kill her when she tried to rescue him from Serenno.

This is basically what happens with Hook. My reasoning behind the Vos Dynamic is when someone is betrayed by a person they care for, that victim will turn on them and hurt them at all costs. Hook certainly didn’t act like this before he knew he was a Dark One. I must make the argument here that just because a person is a Dark One doesn’t mean they have to act like it. It’s all a matter of psychology. When will that sink into the characters’ heads?!

Look, I’ve seen people with dark abilities before. This doesn’t necessarily make them evil unless they let it corrupt them. This is where I would like to point out a principle that’s also from Dark Disciple. I would like to call it the “Vostress Logic”. Near the end of the novel, Vos confesses that he turned to the dark side so he and Ventress could have a future together. This is basically the same reasoning Emma comes to when she claims she did everything for Killian. If this arc in Once Upon a Time turns out like Dark Disciple, then it’s not going to end well.

Don’t think that I’m ending this post on a rotten note. I’m going to leave you the links for every MLP review I’ve done since my last blog post (and when I say “last blog post”, I mean since the second half of Season 5 started).

How Much of a Disneyphile Am I?

Would I be talking about this if I wasn’t?

I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m a Disneyphile on account of the fact that my top five favorite films are all Disney. I grew up with Disney ever since I was a baby. Yep, you read that right. I practically looked at my baby calendar and saw that I watched Snow White with my sister when I was several months old. Well, maybe that’s because she was two years old then, but that’s how my love of Disney began.

Most of my childhood memories have been centered on something Disney. Though I only watched certain movies over and over again as a kid, I decided to watch the entire list of Disney animated features a few years back. Now that I’ve watched all 54 animated features, I consider myself one of the more knowledgeable Disney fans. I’ve also watched various cartoons, TV shows, and movies with actors who have been in at least one Disney film, so I could identify most of those guys at the drop of a hat. Sometimes, I just listen to a voice and I identify that voice with that of a Disney character’s.

Fun Fact: I’m listening to the Mary Poppins soundtrack as I’m typing this.

I have never been to Disneyland or Walt Disney World, though I’m planning to go someday. I don’t know exactly when, but I’m hoping to go at least once in my lifetime. Trust me, it’ll be on my bucket list. I don’t care whether I go with my family, my future husband, and/or my future kids. I just want to experience the kind of fun millions of visitors at the theme parks do.

My parents watched Aladdin in theaters just after they got married. My sister and I think our love for Disney came from the day our mom and dad saw that movie. It’s funny because Mom and Dad are not huge fans of Disney like my sister and I are. They only went to see Aladdin because it had Robin Williams in it. I think this was the type of publicity that Williams was uncomfortable with. See? I know my Disney trivia.

I look up to Walt Disney as a hero, but I can’t help but wonder about his bad aspects. Yes, he smoked, swore, and drank, but despite all of this, he did a lot of good in this world. I’m hoping to become like him someday, but I’m intimidated by how difficult certain processes will be. I have a lot of good stories, though I’m afraid that many of them are just spoofs of pre-existing stories and movies. However, I can’t help but feel that I’m a lot like Walt Disney.

So, how much of a Disneyphile am I? Well, let me list some things:

1.     I’ve watched-

a.     All 54 animated features

b.     All 15 Pixar films

c.      Countless episodes from most of the “Disney Afternoon” shows

d.     A lot of the sequels

e.     A lot of other stuff now owned by Disney

f.       Many live-action films

g.     Many films that combine both live-action and animation

2.     I own-

a.     All 54 animated features

b.     14 Pixar films

c.      A few copies of Alice in Wonderland (I’m an Alice geek)

d.     One or two copies of some DVDs

e.     Ducktales, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, The Little Mermaid (TV series), Aladdin (TV series), and Timon and Pumbaa

f.       Lilo and Stitch (TV series), House of Mouse, and Kim Possible (well, okay, that’s my sister)

g.     Computer games, including the “Animated Storybooks”

3.     How many times have I imagined myself on a Disney adventure? Too many times to count.

When I was a kid, I gave my virtual pets and some of my toys Disney names. I consider myself pretty close to being an ultimate Disney fan. My love for Disney, though not extreme, can be reflected in my plans to spoof certain films in my fanfictions. I have plans to write about certain characters in these Disney-centric plots (though these stories might be tweaked a little). Here’s the link below for some of them:

The Cyborg of Coruscant (my version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame) – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11459697/1/The-Cyborg-of-Coruscant

            Discord in Wonderland – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11334367/1/Discord-in-Wonderland

Crane White and the Seven Snails – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11351912/1/Crane-White-and-the-Seven-Snails

Blossom and the Demon (my version of Beauty and the Beast) – https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10629061/1/Blossom-and-the-Demon

            I hope you’ll enjoy them!

First Post!

My name is Cartoonic and this is my first blog post. Though I have a blog on FIMFiction.net, this is my first actual post. I would like to tell you a bit about myself (no personal information and please don’t ask me about it).

1.       I have hobbies that mainly delve into the arts. I mostly write and draw.

2.       I am hoping to be able to create the many YouTube projects I have planned. The only videos I have released were made on a borrowed iPad and my sister’s Movie-Maker. What I’m really hoping for is to create spoofs of various TV shows and movies.

3.       I am a big fan of cartoons and comics. Among my favorites are (as of now) Star Wars: The Clone Wars, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Baby Blues (comic strip), and The Powerpuff Girls.

4.       My favorite genre of film is animation. My top five favorite films are (in order from first to fifth) Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Treasure Planet. If there’s one thing these films have in common, it’s adventure. Yep, I’ve been the type to explore since before I was born.

5.       I am a big computer geek. I surf the Web and have tons of computer games, even ones from my childhood!

I have accounts on a few other sites:

If you want to check out any of these sites, please be my guest. If any of you are fellow writers and have writers’ block, feel free to talk to me about it. I also write reviews for MLP episodes on my FIMFiction.net blog, so check it out if you like. I must warn you, though: the reviews I write are chockfull of spoilers.

What I will be discussing on this blog will mainly concern animation. This might be a movie, a TV show, or comics. I will also be talking about my philosophy, my stories, and various stuff. I will post links to any of my works when I post or update them.

I hope to feel welcome here and express myself as freely as possible.
